For this project, students designed a composition that included a "close-up" section. Students used a pencil to carve their "close-up" section on styrofoam and used printmaking materials to print. Students used colored pencils and markers to connect the "close-up" section with the rest of the composition, finishing the drawing. Students studied how printmaking changes positive and negative space and experimented with printmaking tools such as a brayer, ink plate, and block ink.Â
